Nope, I had to reset something on the backend of the software that I had tinkered with a few weeks back. :)

I have been doing some experimenting with different maker's reeds, including my original ones from Patricia Cela, Cubero , Enriquez, and Linares.

The Cela and Cuberos are very similar in strength, the Enriquez is very hard and the Linares is the easiest of all.

So far I like the Linares the best, I can easily hit the 2nd octave. Here's the thing, I have no idea if it is a "male" or a "female" reed. It sounds fine and I really like it. I have ordered a few more to see if I just got one really nice easy reed or if there is reproducibility in the reeds from Linares.

Funny........ I like my uilleann reeds very hard, not so much with the gaita though (or maybe it's just because I am a beginner)

Dear Anima, Cela, Cubero (probably) and Enriquez are male reeds, it´s very usual you will find a common form between them. Cubero makes all type of reeds: male and female.

Linarez makes good reeds for Seivane bagpipes. They are very easy reeds. Don´t worry if you use them in a male chanter: galician pipers are very different between them, some likes reeds hard like highland bagpipes, and some like reeds easy like cornemuse du centre ;)

At this point, I think a nice easy reed will facilitate my learning better. Maybe in the future I will like harder reeds like in mu uilleann pipes. :)

I am loving this Linares reed, it has completely redefined my relationship with the pipes. Playing is much more enjoyable and easy for me now, a lot less frustration. :D
