Jeff, I have lots of video and audio examples of big zampognas. Remind me next time we meet up to show or give you copes of some of this stuff. Of course they sound better in person. Like a church organ, very mellow and smooth. No other "portable" acoustic instrument in the world can compare.

EDIT: I just realized that the nativity scene in the background of the last picture you posted Charlie has a pair of zampognari playing in it! Nice

Yeh, the cover of the latest issue of 'Utirculus' (ottobre 2007) that just came over has a very nice painting of lg zamp & ciara. I'll send it along with some other things that are sitting here in my office(didnt think I forgot, didja? :mrgreen: )

BTW: I got my organetto! It's going to keep me sane while I begin intensive studying for the bar exam... Here I go thumping along the to tarantella 1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5.6.....
